Read at least 600 minutes to complete the program and earn a prize. Read more to earn additional prizes, such as free ice cream, coffee, and other treats, as well as free entry to local museums and attractions. 

The wait is over! Summer Reading Challenge prizes will be available for pick up at our 8 curbside service locations beginning Monday, July 13, and while supplies last.

When you arrive, call the library and let staff know you are here to claim your Summer Reading Challenge prizes. You will receive registration coupons and more, based on the amount of reading time you have logged.

When you register for the Summer Reading Challenge, you will receive a Vanderbilt University Football Game voucher, a Qdoba coupon, and a Nashville SC bookmark.

Read 600, 1200, 1800 Minutes

Read 600 Minutes: Earn a small token of thanks.

  • For Listeners (age 0 – 5 years) - Water Squirt Toy
  • For Readers (entering grades K to 6) and Teens (entering grades 7 – 12) - Color-Changing Mood Ball
  • For Adults (Age 18+) - Tote bag

Read 1200 Minutes: Earn coupons for prizes at businesses around Nashville.

Read 1800 Minutes: Earn  more coupons for prizes at different businesses around Nashville.

Prize Drawings for Reading Even More

For every 600 minutes you read, you earn an entry into prize drawings held at your local library branch and a grand prize drawing at the end of the program.

Prize drawings may include:

  • Gift cards to local restaurants, grocery stores, or bookstores
  • Memberships at local museums and free entry into various Nashville attractions

Grand Prizes

All participants who read at least 1,800 minutes will be entered into our grand prize drawings. Three lucky winners (one teen, one adult, and one child) will be drawn after the challenge ends on August 21!

Grand Prize: Gift cards for shopping sprees at McKay’s, The Bookshop in East Nashville, Fairytales Bookstore, and Parnassus Books.
